Violin by Joannes Georgius et Antonius filius Staufer Vienna 1843

This instrument was damaged when a sofa fell on it during a furniture removal. This caused numerous cracks and the soundpost to break through the top. During the restoration process all cracks were glued and secured with cleats. A plaster cast of the arching of the top was made in order to correct the deformation in the soundpost area. This area was then reinforced with a soundpost patch.
