Violin based on the model of the ‘Sauret’ Guarneri del Gesu anno 1743 V
I made this instrument based on the model of Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesu´s violin anno 1743, known as the ‘Sauret’, the former concert instrument of Emile Sauret, last pupil of Charles de Bériot. The original instrument is currently played by Itzhak Perlman.
My last four violins based on this model sounded exceptionally well and were handed over to happy musicians right after finishing. So I decided to make one more violin based on the model of the “Sauret”.
This violin is again made from my stock of wood that has been dried for over 80 years!
The instrument is now owned by Heinz Haunold, former concertmaster of the Bruckner Orchestra Linz. He is playing this violin in concert halls all over the world.
