Violin based on the model of the ‘Sauret’ Guarneri del Gesu anno 1743 III
I made this instrument based on the model of Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesu´s violin anno 1743, known as the ‘Sauret’, the former concert instrument of Emile Sauret, last pupil of Charles de Bériot. The original instrument is currently played by Itzhak Perlman.
My last two violins based on this model sounded exceptionally well. One was acquired by a concert master, the other one was sold a day after it had been finished! Never change a winning team – that’s why I decided to make one more violin based o the model of the “Sauret”.
This time the fine oil varnish is less imitated and the craquelure very fine. This violin is again made from my stock of wood that has been dried for over 80 years!
This instrument has already been sold!
