Violin based on the model of the ‘Sauret’ Guarneri del Gesu anno 1743 II
I made this instrument based on the model of Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesu´s violin anno 1743, known as the ‘Sauret’, the former concert instrument of Emile Sauret, last pupil of Charles de Bériot. The original instrument is currently played by Itzhak Perlman.
My last violin, based on the same model, was again acquired by a concert master due to its exceptional sound, so I decided to make another instrument based on this model. It turned out to be a good decision, because the following day after the instrument had been finished it was already sold!
The varnish is shaded and imitated corresponding to my own personal taste. This violin is again made from my stock of wood that has been dried for over 80 years!
